Charles Amye,[1] baptised 29/1/1720, West Wickham, Cambridgeshire.[3] In 1770 Charles made a marriage settlement of land to Joseph and Prudence (nee Amey) Cook.[1] Charles died between 9/7/1782 when he made his last will and 25/7/1782 when the will was proven.[2] "Charles Amey of West Wickham 1782. In the name of God Amen. I Charles Amey of West Wickham in the County of Cambridge, farmer, being of pefect mind and memory make this my last will and testament. Imprimis: I give and bequeath to my wife Prudence Amey and my daughter Elizabeth Leggat the stock of my farm, corn upon the grounds, in the barns, farming utensils and household furniture with every and all monies etc etc that may be due to me at the time of my death to be divided between them as followeth: My wife Prudence Amey one third part, and my daughter Elizabeth Leggat to have the remaining two parts together with the farm if she chooses to keep it on and I constitute and appoint my daughter Elizabeth Leggat the whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament and I do herby and utterly revoke, disallow and disannul all former bequests wills and legacies by me heretofore in any wise left or made declaring certifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.
